Small, dried oval seeds with a mix of white and grey hues, they’re perfect for sprinkling on smoothies, breakfast bowls, porridge or salads. They can also be used as a vegan egg alternative, to thicken sauces, or to add a boost of fibre, protein and omega-3 to just about anything.
With their lighter colour, white chia seeds are less visible in lighter-coloured dishes like smoothies, light breads, pancakes or porridge, giving a cleaner, “lighter” appearance compared to black chia seeds, which may darken the look of some recipes.
