Japanese Udon noodles come in round, square, or flat shapes, offering a texture well-suited for heartier dishes. Comprising wheat flour, salt, and water, these thicker, soft noodles possess a slight chewiness. While Udon noodles can be enjoyed cold, they are typically served hot, adorned with diverse toppings or incorporated into hotpot dishes alongside other ingredients. Occasionally, Udon noodles find their way into curry soups. In traditional soba recipes, Udon can serve as a replacement, and some dishes even combine soba and Udon noodles to introduce a variety of textures.
